Let's talk about Mr. Manoj Goyal, a pharmacist who's always been fascinated by technology. Back in 2003, he decided to open Goyal Medical, right here in Jaipur.

The customers who walked into the store were amazed by his cheerful demeanour and friendly nature. He truly enjoyed connecting with the customers beyond the stereotypical medicine talk, leading to friendly relationships - a key factor in differentiating Goyal medical from conventional pharmacies. The customers didn’t remember the store, but him. He was the reason for the goodwill of Goyal medical.

Medicine Availability

In just two years, Goyal Medical became a trusted name in the locality. To serve even more people, he opened a second store in 2005, expanding his reach to a new customer base. The second store also started seeing success in no time, as positive word of mouth drew in more customers.

In 2017, he opened a third store. But this growth came with new challenges. Managing multiple stores wasn't as simple as running just one store. He soon realized that keeping track of everything and ensuring smooth operations across all stores was becoming a real headache.

Daily Struggle

Customers would often ask for products that were out of stock, and they’d leave empty-handed. The frustrating part was that the other store might have the needed product, but there was no easy way to check.

Mr Goyal could only see two solutions at that time, either

  • Over stock the products which would increase the investment or 
  • Risk customer bounce which was also bad for business

Neither of the solutions were ideal and when the bounce count increased to 10 customers a day, he knew he had to find a solution.

Quest to find the perfect ERP

Initially, Mr. Goyal relied on an outdated desktop software that couldn't show real-time product availability at other branch stores. To try and solve this, his staff started calling other branches every time a customer wanted an out-of-stock item.

Results? Long wait time for the customers!

Mr. Goyal even explored a hybrid ERP system, an originally desktop based ERP, needing to be synced on cloud to get updated information of branch stores. They agreed to customize the stock availability feature for him. However, he was disappointed with the ERP's performance and failure to deliver the feature as required. Dissatisfied but determined, he continued his search for the perfect software.
